The speckling is a finish, not a flaw.

Picasso-finish Czech glass is coated with a mottled mineral wash and refired, so the coating settles into the surface texture and leaves the raised areas clear. The result looks far more like stone than glass — which is exactly the intention, and why these read as ancient rather than manufactured.

The rectangles here run amber through olive with darker mineral drift across them, no two the same. Above each sits a translucent amber round and a stack of small copper spacers that pick up the warm tones and carry them to the ear wire.

Copper is the right metal for this palette. Silver would fight it; gold would flatten it. Copper sits in the same warm register as the glass and lets the whole earring read as one thing.

Unlacquered, so it will deepen against skin over time.
